Projects, annexations lead to higher assessed value for Warsaw

The city of Warsaw is seeing its assessed value heading on the rise.

Mayor Joe Thallemer announced at Monday’s common council meeting that he received some positive news regarding the “significant” rise in the net assessed value. He says information that the city received shows that between the annexations and the projects that the city has undergone, the amount has taken a pretty good jump.

Thallemer didn’t discuss the specific number as officials continue to look through the finer details, but he said it should be beneficial to the tax rate. Several other factors are also leading to the higher assessed value.

In the past year, the city’s final assessed value was just under $918 million, while the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory was roughly $1.38 billion.
