Prosecutors File To Join Murder Trials of Woody, Others

State prosecutors Friday filed a motion to join the trials of alleged murderers Brandon Woody, Kyle DeHart and Thomas Hursey.
The motion for joinder of defendants aims to try the three individuals at once because they have been charged for the same crime.
Judge Michael Reed has set a court date of 8:30 a.m. Jan. 21 for the motion.
The alleged murders of Joshua Knisley and Tara Thornburg took place Feb. 19 in Syracuse.
Woody is charged with two counts of murder. Hursey is charged with two counts of murder, aiding in robbery causing serious bodily injury and obstruction of justice. DeHart is also charged with two counts of murder, as well as obstruction of justice. Two others arrested in connection to the murders are Joan DeHart and Ashlyn Shepard.
The jury trial for Woody is set for 8:30 a.m. April 28.
