WARSAW — Decisions on funding requests from Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts and the Kosciusko County Fair Board were delayed on Wednesday by Kosciusko County Convention, Recreation and Visitors Commission.

Money for the requests comes from the county Innkeepers tax.

Wagon Wheel is seeking $232,000 for phase two of repairs to White Hill Manor, a hotel adjacent to the theater. The board delayed a decision until July and asked for an itemized list of construction costs.

The fair board had requested $2,500 to increase the winning prize for an upcoming BBQ contest. The board indicated they’d rather use the money for marketing and promotions. Fairboard representative Kevin Harris is expected to return with a new plan in July.

The third grant of $2,780 for the Tour Des Lakes which the Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary Charitable Foundation oversees was approved.

Tour Des Lakes is a bike tour event around the lakes that starts in Syracuse. This year’s event returns on July 15.
