Ronald Hershberger Jr., known to most as Ronnie, passed away on December 5, 2023, surrounded by love from his family in Goshen. He was born on June 6, 1960, in the same town he called home throughout his life.
Ronnie was a remarkable individual, described by those who knew him as a true teddy bear with a large presence but a heart of gold. He possessed a selfless and caring nature and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His generosity touched the lives of many and he will be fondly remembered for his kind spirit.
One of Ronnie’s passions was mushroom hunting; he had an uncanny ability to navigate forests and discover these hidden treasures. Spending time among nature brought him immense joy and peace. Additionally, Ronnie had an immense love for animals, especially chickens and dogs. His compassion towards them was evident in the way he would care for them.
Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his parents: Ronald Hershberger Sr. and M. Jean (Evans) Hershberger of Goshen and four siblings: Debbie (Denny) Trigg of Wolcotville, Connie (Mike Teeter) of South Bend, Kris (Sharon) Hershberger Sr., of Goshen and Terrie Hershberger Johnson of Goshen.
In addition to his immediate family, Ronnie shared special bonds with his nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Ronnie dearly. His impact on their lives will forever be treasured.
Ronnie is preceded in death by two siblings: an infant sister, Kimberly Hershberger and sister, Darlene Elswick along with his grandparents.
