Sara Elizabeth Burns

Sara Elizabeth Burns, 44, passed away peacefully February 14th, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Warsaw to Tom and Jody Burns (Brumfield) on August 30, 1978 and was a graduate of Warsaw Community High School and Indiana University.

Sara spent many years with Community Health Network in Indianapolis, most recently as a Patient Access Coordinator.

In addition to her parents, Sara leaves behind sisters Kate (Paul) Nowak and Megan Burns, niece Maddie Nowak and nephews Jacob and Sam Nowak, her precious Yorkie, Tucker and several cat-nieces, all of Warsaw, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sara was preceded in death by her treasured grandparents, Jack and Kate Burns, Nancy Brumfield and Eugene Brumfield, all of Warsaw.

Sara enjoyed attending concerts and sporting events with her little sister, whom she called Meegy.  These included dozens of Avett Brothers and Brandi Carlile concerts as well as yearly attendance at the Indianapolis 500.  Sara loved watching IU basketball games with her dad.

Sara loved beach vacations and would often joke about taking her pool noodle as her carry-on item.  She was an avid reader, especially anything by Colleen Hoover.  Many friends and family relied upon Sara for TV show and podcast recommendations and had many ongoing group texts for discussion. Some favorites include:   The Handmaid’s Tale, Succession, Outlander, Yellowstone and of course, Game of Thrones.

Sara served many years as Commissioner of her Bachelor and Bachelorette Fantasy League.  She was the person many would call when needing help figuring out how to say something more tactfully.  She provided round the clock IT services for her beloved Uncle Tim and was a friend to so many, including several life-long friendships.

Sara’s loyalty, candor, wisdom, sense of humor and compassion will be missed dearly by her family, friends and work colleagues.
