Second Round of Warsaw TIF Meetings This Week

A second round of public meetings will be held this week for two proposed TIF districts in Warsaw.

The north TIF meeting will be held Monday night at Harrison Elementary School starting at 5:30 PM, with the south TIF meeting on Wednesday at Eisenhower Elementary School at 5:30 PM.

Officials said in a press release that the TIFs would promote new market rate workforce housing in Warsaw and Kosciusko County. A residential TIF district would enable Warsaw to collect taxes generated from new residential developments within the proposed district. That tax revenue is then used specifically and only for improvements within that district to provide growth and amenities to that area. TIF does not increase or change property taxes of existing properties within the district.

The proposed north district would include neighborhoods north of US 30 and the south district would include neighborhoods south of Kincade Street and some areas along the western shore of Winona Lake.
