Snow Causes Accidents Throughout Kosciusko County

Emergency personnel throughout Kosciusko County have stayed busy with roadway incidents since the snow began on Monday morning.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to 41 calls for help since then. 18 of those calls were for property damage crashes, 17 for slide-offs, three personal injury crashes, two unknown injury crashes and one hit-and-run crash

There were 111 calls for help throughout the county. 48 of those were for property damage crashes and 39 were for slide-offs.

Snow created hazardous travel conditions in many areas on Tuesday, especially throughout northeastern Kosciusko, western Whitley and southern Elkhart Counties, where visibility dropped to hundreds of feet due to a lake effect snow squall.
