Spring-like weather breaks temp record in South Bend

The spring-like warmth on Wednesday afternoon set a new record at the South Bend International Airport station.

A temperature of 69 was reported just before 2:30 PM, breaking a record that stood for 119 year old record, which was 67 back in 1902. The high temperature was 25 degrees above the normal high of the year.

Temperatures topped 70 in Fort Wayne, but that fell three degrees short of the record 73 degrees recorded in 1925. Warsaw’s temperature got up to 68 on Wednesday, marking three straight days of temperatures in the 60s.
