Teen Charged With Arson In Connection To Valley Forge Fire

Update:

More information on the Warsaw teen who was arrested last week on charges of arson was provided today.
Joshua Hensley, 19, of 3100 Frontage Road, Warsaw, was arrested Thursday for lighting multiple fires at Valley Forge Apartment complex Wednesday evening.
His bond for the arson charge was set at $15,250.
According to the probable cause affidavit, provided by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, Warsaw police met with Warsaw fire inspector Joe Fretz Wednesday evening. They found the inside of a dryer had smoke and fire damage on the inside. Fretz advised that he returned to the complex after someone had attempted to light a fire in another dryer but had not burned.
Warsaw Fire Department returned to Valley Forge Thursday for reports of a dumpster catching on fire. A Warsaw police officer observed a suspicious male, later identified as Hensley, watching the fire department extinguish the dumpster fire.
Hensley was confronted by the officer and then allegedly admitted to placing magazines in the dryer and lighting it on fire. He then went back after the fire was put out and tried again with a dryer. He allegedly confessed to lighting the dumpster on fire and advised he intentionally caused the fires.
The dryer fire originally was believed to be due to a faulty dryer unit in the complex’s laundry room, which is attached to the main office building. Damages were estimated up to $60,000.
