A ribbon cutting ceremony celebrated the opening of a donation drop-off center and thrift store.

The Beaman Home’s new facility on Argonne Road is called “Mary Ann’s Place” in honor of founding Altrusa member Mary Ann Cox. Her family was in attendance as staff and supporters gathered there for a grand opening and open house on Monday.

Mary Ann’s Place will also serve as the Beaman Home’s Basic Needs Center, providing furniture, clothes, and other needed items to victims of domestic violence.

It is open to the public Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Donations can be dropped off during open hours on Mondays & Tuesdays from 1-7 p.m., Fridays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment.
