The City of Warsaw will be looking at potential safety improvements along Husky Trail.

They’re expected to take up the issue at the July 10 meeting of the traffic commission.

This comes after 8-year-old Gidieon Cook was fatally struck when crossing Husky Trail at North Pointe Drive a month ago. The Times-Union reports a 67-year-old woman was also killed along that road in 2016 when struck by a Winona Lake Police vehicle while crossing the road to get her mail.

Members of the city’s traffic commission are gathering traffic and speed data to look at the different options for that area.
