Three Warsaw middle school students place in the 31st Annual Scholastic Chess of Indiana State Finals

Warsaw Community School students recently participated in the 31st Annual Scholastic Chess of Indiana contest. The State Finals was held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Pike High School in Indianapolis. There were 80 students competing in the 8th & Under Middle School division. Congratulations to Lakeview Middle School and to Edgewood Middle School students, families, and coaches. Here are results of local students

  • Andrew Potter, an 8th-grade student at Lakeview, won five out of six matches to take 2nd place.
  • Aiden Carr, an 8th-grade student at Edgewood, also won 5 out of six matches to finish 4th,
  • McKale Hagg, an 8th-grade student at Edgewood, finished with 4 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw to finish 8th.
