Toddler struck, killed by hit-and-run driver in Indianapolis; Police Searching for Vehicle

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A 21-month-old girl has been struck and killed by a car outside her Indianapolis home.

WXIN-TV reports that the driver didn’t stop after hitting the girl Sunday evening. Police said the child was in her driveway near the curb and that the parents witnessed her being struck. The child was transported to Riley Hospital in critical condition, but she succumbed to her injuries and passed away.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are searching for a man driving a gray 4-door sedan.

Police say at this time they do not believe the child left the driveway, but did say the child was near the curb at the time she was hit.

No arrests have been made.
