An early Tuesday morning crash in downtown Warsaw on Center Street was caused after the driver was suffering from a medical emergency.

Warsaw Police say the call came in just before 7:30 AM after a car had crashed into a parked vehicle along Center Street, between Buffalo and Indiana Streets. The driver inside, 68-year old Byron McNees of Warsaw was found unresponsive when first responders arrived. They performed CPR on McNees until he was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, where he later passed away.

Police say a witness of the crash was headed south on North Lake Street, following behind the vehicle that McNees was operating, when it went up onto the curb. The car then took a left onto Center Street and struck one parked vehicle before hitting the second one, causing the parked vehicle up onto the curb.

No one else was injured in the incident.
