Twin Toddlers Killed In House Fire

Northern Indiana prosecutors are weighing whether criminal charges are warranted in the deaths of twin 3-year-old brothers killed in an April house fire near Lafayette. Tippecanoe County Sheriff Tracy Brown tells the Journal & Courier detectives have completed their investigation and the case is now in prosecutors' hands. Deputies pulled Landon and Liam Abbott from a burning rural home southeast of Lafayette on April 5 but they died soon afterward. Autopsies confirmed the boys died as a result of the fire. The boys' father, Brandon Abbott, told police the boys started the fire while he was asleep and he couldn't find them when he awoke. He says he believes his sons were hiding in the house.
