A Louisiana man charged with murder after autopsy evidence contradicted an eyewitness account in an Indiana man's death faces a November trial in that killing. A Gibson County judge has set a Nov. 17 trial date for 53-year-old Claude G. Arender. The Coushatta (kuh-SHAT'-uh), Louisiana man remains jailed without bond in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Raheim Bright of Vincennes. Prosecutors say Arender's son initially told police a gun discharged when Arender struck Bright in the head with it several times June 20 during a fight outside a Princeton home. But an autopsy found Bright died from a single gunshot to the rear of his head and the cause of death was homicide.
