Two hurt, shooting suspect dead in beauty college shooting in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Fort Wayne police say a man is dead and a woman has been seriously wounded in a shooting at a beauty college.

Authorities say police received a report around 6:45 p.m. on Monday, June 5, of an active shooter at Ravenscroft Beauty College.

Fort Wayne police spokesman John Chambers says after officers arrived on the scene they secured the premises and searched for the suspect and victims.

Two women were shot.

One was taken to the hospital in serious condition but has since been downgraded to critical condition. The other arrived at the hospital in good condition.

Witnesses on scene said the shooting may have sparked from a domestic situation, though authorities have said what sparked the incident.

Neither the dead man nor the two people shot have been identified.

As many as 50 people were inside the building at the time of the shooting.
