Two people were injured in two separate crashes along just a couple miles apart on Tuesday morning.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office first responded to the crash on County Road 850 East, north of Adams Road and south of Jellystone Park campgrounds shortly after 9 AM. They say they found a 1997 Jeep Cherokee overturned on the roadway, where 19-year old Remington Hurd of Pierceton had been ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

The second crash took place about two hours later along Adams Road, where 25-year old Jacob Schlichter of Albion had crashed into a tree. Officials say Schlicter was going through a curve at an unsafe speed, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway. He was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital with a non-critical leg injury.

Both crashes are under further investigation.
