Warsaw Police Department officers responded to a vehicle-pedestrian accident at 6:04 this morning at 708 W. Center St., Warsaw. The driver, Scott Daeger, 33, Washington Street, Pierceton, told police he was traveling eastbound on Center Street when Darrell W. Vetor, 52, Center Street, Warsaw, stepped out from behind a vehicle. Daeger said he hit his brakes but was unable to avoid striking Vetor. Daeger said Vetor struck the driver side mirror and fell to the ground and Daeger began administering first aid. Vetor was transported to Luther Hospital, Fort Wayne, due to the severity of his injuries to his legs and a laceration on his head.
