PLYMOUTH — A utility worker in a bucket truck working in Marshall County was severely injured when he came in contact with an electrical line.

The incident happened on Thursday, according to a news release issued Monday morning by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call at about 10:56 a.m. regarding a man in a bucket truck who had been “electrocuted” while installing a fiber optic cable on a utility pole and was unconscious.

The caller said they were eventually able to get the bucket lowered and the victim onto the ground to start CPR until emergency personnel arrived.

Emergency personnel soon arrived and then took over life-saving efforts. Eventually, a pulse was detected and the man started breathing. He was then air-lifted to

The victim also suffered severe burns on his upper body, the news release said.

Neither the man’s name nor the name of the utility company was identified.
