A Wabash teen will be recognized as a 2020 Riley Champion Tuesday night.

16-year old Jace Randel will be honored at the Wabash County school board meeting, which begins at 6 PM. This special presentation will allow Jace’s school to honor his bravery and kick off his role as ambassador for Riley Hospital for Children.

Jace was eleven when a bone marrow biopsy at Riley Hospital for Children revealed he had severe aplastic anemia, leaving his bone marrow unable to make enough blood cells for his body. The only treatment was a bone marrow transplant, and thankfully Jace’s older sister, Audrie, was a match. Jace stayed at Riley for 53 days.

Jace joins Katherine Alderfer of Winona Lake as local Riley Champions.
