Warsaw Community Schools appoint Jeremy Mullins to Board of School Trustees

At a board work session held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, the Board of School Trustees appointed Jeremy L. Mullins to occupy the seat vacated by Jennifer Tandy (District 5) and to fulfill that term to end December 31, 2018, by a vote of 6-0.

Mr. Mullins will be sworn onto the board at the regular board meeting to be held Monday, October 17, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.

Warsaw Community Schools accepted letters of interest until September 30, 2016 and report that three very qualified candidates were interviewed on Monday, October 3, 2016. The board stated at the work session during discussion that it was a very difficult decision because of the quality of the candidates.

Mr. Mullins currently serves as commercial manager of Louis Dreyfus Company of Claypool, Indiana. Mr. Mullins received a BA in Agribusiness at Purdue University and has served on state-wide agribusiness boards along with currently serving on the Indiana Soybean Alliance Board of Directors.

Locally, Mr. Mullins currently serves on Junior Achievement as the current board president, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Kosciusko County Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, Warsaw Education Foundation Community Quiz Bowl Team Captain and as a coach for YMCA youth soccer and basketball.

Dr. Hoffert shared, “We are honored to have Mr. Mullins join WCS Board of School Trustees. During the past two years, he has participated in multiple district committees and has found many ways to support and serve our students. His servant’s heart and commitment to envisioning the future of public education will be a great asset to Warsaw Community Schools and the entire community.”

Warsaw Community Schools would like to congratulate Mr. Jeremy Mullins on his appointment to the board and values his agricultural background to enhance our students’ agricultural knowledge vital to this area. Mr. Mullin’s community service attributes align to the WCS Mission by enriching the lives of others and with the WCS Core Values of giving of time, talent and resources is vital to the well-being of the community. Mr. Mullins and his wife Oxana have two children and live in Winona Lake.
