The Warsaw Police Department will be holding a 2019 Citizen’s Police Academy.

They announced today that they are seeking applicants who can help them achieve their goal of bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community it serves.

Officials say community members who have questions on how or why police do what they do are encouraged to apply as it is an opportunity to get information directly from those who train and teach the tactics used on a daily basis in the city of Warsaw.

The Citizen’s Police Academy will meet September 5 through November 7 on every Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

Topics covered will include Recruitment, Police Training, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Physical Tactics, Central Dispatch Operations, an introduction to our specialty teams as well as a tour of the Kosciusko County Jail and the Courts.

Those interested in applying can do so here: https://www.warsaw.in.gov/389/Citizens-Police-Academy

The deadline to apply is August 1.
