A Warsaw resident was recognized as the Kosciusko County Veteran of the Month at Tuesday’s County Commissioners meeting.

74-year old Larry Evans is a US Air Force vet, who enlisted in April of 1966, and was stationed at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida for nearly three years before being reassigned to Kunsan AFB in Gunsan, South Korea for a year.

Evans spent eleven years at NIPSCO before pursuing his childhood dream of becoming an auctioneer, which he has done for 47 years. He started his own business, Evans Auction Services in 1981, and continues to do auctions for Metzger to this day. He recently celebrated his 54th anniversary with his wife Joyce in July.
