A broken down freezer resulted in the loss of several hundred pounds of meat at Combined Community Services.

Director of Emergency Assistance Tim Frame said one of the chest freezers is thought to have broken down over the weekend and a routine temperature check on Monday is when the freezer was discovered to be broken, resulting in the loss of 400 pounds of meat.

CCS was able to buy a standalone freezer with the help of funds from the K21 Health Foundation last year, which has helped the organization improve their space for frozen and refrigerated items. Anyone who would like to donate to CCS can drop off items at their building on Mariners Drive.

You can also donate items during Food-A-Thon at the Kensington Digital Media offices on West Market Street on Friday, November 13th and Saturday, November 14th. Read more here.
