Warsaw Schools hosts tech talk for parents

Digital learning and safety for youth and teens will be the focus of a free Warsaw Community Schools event Monday night, 6:30-8:15 p.m. The parent tech information night is funded by the Summer of E-Learning grant award by the Indiana Department of Education.

Indiana State Police Internet Crime Against Children Task Force youth educator Cathie Bledsoe will discuss internet safety. A press release from WCS says Bledsoe’s presentation will offer “age appropriate, timely information relevant to youth 8-18.”

The other speaker at the event, Kevin Honeycutt, will be talking to parents about raising “wired” learners. Honeycutt is a former teacher and Making IT Happen Award winner who presents online safety, anti-bullying, and cyber-bullying curriculum.

The event is also an opportunity for parents to sign up for technology insurance offered for the WCS iPads. Sign-up is also made available online.

Those who attend Monday night will be entered for a chance to win an Amazon Echo.
