A Warsaw woman has been arrested on felony charges of battery to a family member with a child under sixteen present, all stemming from an incident that occurred in May.
Jody Lynn Miller, 38, of Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Thursday afternoon. She is being held on a $6,000 bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, on May 17 a Warsaw City Police responded to a residence in Warsaw regarding a battery. When the officer arrived he spoke to a female victim who said she had been hit.
The victim told the officer she was talking with Miller, her relative, and Miller became angry and head-butted her on the mouth.
As a result of blow, the victim’s lip went numb, her left cheek was sore and she had a headache. She was treated at a local MedStat Clinic.
Miller’s minor son, whom she does not have legal custody of, was present during the battery. On May 25, a Warsaw Detective interviewed Miller’s son who stated during an argument his mother head-butted his guardian on the face.
On May 26, the detective interviewed Miller who admitted to hitting her relative on the nose with her forehead.
