WEDNESDAY COVID UPDATE: Cases approach 9,000 in state

The Indiana State Department of Health reported 440 new cases in their Wednesday update, bringing the case count just shy of 9,000.

49 more deaths were also reported, bringing the state total up to 436. This is through 48,396 total tests that have been completed. 2,420 more tests were reported today.

Not reflected in the new update, Kosciusko County reported one new case to bring their total up to 20.

The state says roughly 46 percent of ICU beds are available in the state and only 26 percent of ventilators are currently being used, about 15 percent of those for COVID related patients.
