Whitko tabs Edington as interim superintendent

LARWILL – Whitko Community School Board approved Dr. Tom Edington of Syracuse as interim superintendent at a special meeting Wednesday.

He officially starts work Wednesday, May 29 in the administrative offices at Whitko Career Academy, according to a news release from Whitko Community Schools.

Edington retired in December 2020 as superintendent of Wawasee Community School Corporation after working 45 years in public education.

Before coming to WCSC in 2008, he served as superintendent at RichlandBean Blossom Community School Corporation in Ellettsville. Prior to RichlandBean Blossom, Edington was employed nine years at North Miami Schools as superintendent and 10 years in the Huntington County Schools as a principal.

Edington replaces Tim Pivarnik who resigned unexpectedly last week.
