A home daycare operator is being charged in connection to the death of a Kosciusko County toddler.
11-month-old Emma Grace Leeman suffered a head injury that left her brain dead in April of 2018 while in the care of Courtney Kincaid.
On Wednesday, Kincaid was charged with aggravated battery and child neglect resulting in death.
She was booked into the Whitley County Jail on a $200,000 bond, or $20,000 cash.
The Leeman family tells WNDU they were close friends with Kincaid before the fatal incident.
They want to focus on making the best of the tragedy, noting that Emma Grace was an organ donor.
