PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

Roads could become snow covered and slick so allow extra time to reach your destination. Slow down when driving and allow plenty of extra distance for braking, the National Weather Service of Northern Indiana advised.

The light/moderate snowfall should continue for all of Monday, transitioning to lake effect snow overnight into Tuesday.

Wind chills Monday night into Tuesday morning will be between zero and 10 below zero, according to the National Weather Service.

By 7 a.m. Tuesday, around 4”-6” of snow is expected from South Bend to Benton Harbor, with some isolated spots of 6″+ near the lake shore, according to ABC 57.

Totals fall off to the 2”-3” range as you travel away from Lake Michigan.

The lake effect continues through Tuesday and much of Wednesday before tapering off in the late afternoon/evening Wednesday. Another 1”-3” could be possible from northwest St. Joseph County to Berrien County with 1” or less for everyone else.

The second-half of the work week looks dry as temps to slowly climb above 40 by the weekend.
