Zimmer Biomet Receives Major Military Contract

Zimmer Biomet has been awarded a $380 million military contract to produce orthopedic products for several branches of service.
The U.S. Department of Defense awarded the one-year base contract with four one-year options Monday, according to DOD records. The contract for “various orthopedic products” has a maximum value of $380,977,134.
The work will be done in Indiana with an April 25, 2021, performance completion date. The branches that will use Zimmer’s services are the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies.
The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia is the contracting activity.
Separately, Zimmer US Inc. was awarded six military contracts worth a combined $293,924,840 since 2011, according to DOD records, and Biomet 3i LLC was awarded one contract worth $27,774,800 in 2014.
