2 Injured In Snowmobile Accident

TIMES UNION REPORTS – Two Warsaw women were injured in a snowmobile accident Thursday.

According to information provided by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office was contacted regarding a snowmobile accident between CR 300N and U.S. 30.

The snowmobile was traveling across an agricultural field when it crashed into a ditch.

Angela Shaw-Yoder, 47, was operating the snowmobile when the crash occurred. The passenger was Caitlin Ryser, 48.

As of Friday evening, Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne reported Shaw-Yoder was still in critical condition. Ryser had been discharged.

Shaw-Yoder is the widow of Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy Jeffery Shaw, who was killed in the line of duty Nov. 12, 2009, after being hit by a pickup truck on Ind. 14 while he was on patrol. He was 40 years old. Angela recently was remarried to Nicholas Yoder, Warsaw.

Assisting at the scene were the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Lutheran EMS, Atwood Fire Department, Riechert and Knepp and Crouse Towing.
