SYRACUSE — The southern tip of Lake Wawasee was hard hit Tuesday night when a line of storms passed through the region, causing significant wind damage.
Syracuse police confirmed that trees and power poles were down, and some residents said their windows were blown out, according to WNDU.
Turkey Creek Fire Territory responded to several nearby incidents and posted an alert after 1:30 p.m. on Facebook advising that multiple areas were unsafe to travel due to downed power lines.
As of 7 a.m., NIPSCO reported that about 240 customers in Syracuse were without power.
No injuries were reported.
More rain is forecast Wednesday and Thursday, the National Weather Service reports.
High temperatures through Thursday will be in the low 80s.
