Accused Michigan City drug deal falls asleep at drive-thru

If you’re a drug dealer, you probably shouldn’t fall asleep in line at the McDonald’s drive-thru.

Ryan Brasseur was awake and picking up his food by the time Michigan City police showed up at the restaurant on March 1, but that didn’t make a difference.

Brasseur was asked to pull out of line to speak with police. When he did, officers could smell marijuana coming from his car.

A K9 officer searched the 18-year-old’s car and found eight bags of pot inside. Brasseur also had a plastic bag of pot hanging out of his pocket, officers told The LaPorte County Herald-Argus.

Officers also found a bottle of vodka in the trunk of the car.

Brasseur admitted to smoking pot about three times a week and said he “purchases more to sell in small amounts.”

The marijuana found in the car weighed approximately 2 ounces, police told the Herald-Argus.

Brasseur is charged with dealing pot and illegally having alcohol. He has pleaded not guilty and is due in court in May.
