‘Bachelor Ben’ To Be Featured at Annual BYC Event In March

“Bachelor” star Ben Higgins has another date lined up at Baker Youth Club in March.
“BYC Madness,” an annual fundraising event usually held with a basketball theme, will give way to “BYC Reality” March 25 when the Warsaw Community High School grad from the current season of the reality dating show is the featured speaker.

“We want to get out there the reality of BYC and what we do,” said Executive Director Tracy Furnivall, who added he expects the $75 tickets will likely sell out quick. “It’s a great opportunity to hear about Ben’s story and experience and to support an organization that’s been a pillar in the community for 90 years in August.”

He said Higgins, whose date at the club with one of the “Bachelor” contestants aired Monday, will “speak about his experience on the show, his journey of love and his passion for BYC.” Higgins both volunteered with and worked for BYC three or four years ago, Furnivall noted.
“He has a personal attachment to us and with us, that’s why he’s coming back to help with the fundraiser,” he said. “He’s truly a genuine guy, what you see is what you get.”
The event will also feature social time, food and drinks and a silent and live auction. Prizes include a dinner date with Higgins, a trip to Hawaii and a trip to Marco Island.
The event will be held at BYC’s new location, the former YMCA at 1401 E. Smith St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are available by visiting www.bakeryouthclub.com or calling 574-267-8771. Tickets will be available at the door only if they haven’t sold out in advance.
