Breakfast Optimist Club Sponsoring Essay, Speech Contests For Students

Kosciusko County students can compete in two  contests that the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club is sponsoring.

The first contest is an essay contest.

The Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club essay and applications are due to Shari Benyousky, Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club essay chair, at juxtapaused@gmail.com by Feb. 14 at midnight. The topic of the essay is “How Does an Optimist Mindset Change my Tomorrow?”

The essay is open to anyone under the age of 19 by Oct. 1, 2021, and who has not yet completed high school.

First prize is $200, second prize is $100 and third price is $50.

The other contest the Warsaw Optimist Breakfast Club is offering is the speech contest.

Speeches will be done live in the Old Courthouse Courtroom, 100 W. Center St., Warsaw, on March 27 at 1 p.m. Prizes will be announced later.

The theme of the of the speech is “Staying Optimistic in Challenging Times.”
