ROCHESTER — A man from Rochester was killed in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 31 Thursday morning, say Indiana State Police.

Just after 8 a.m., troopers and deputies with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on U.S. 31 and Southway 31 in Rochester.

Investigators believe that Dewayne Hecht, 38, of Rochester, was driving a 2009 Hyundai Accent car heading westbound on Southway 31. The Hyundai attempted to cross U.S. 31 when a semi driving southbound crashed into it.

Hecht was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
