WARSAW — Kosciusko County Velo Cycling Club will bring back the downtown crit for next year’s Fat and Skinny Tire Fest.

Nick Hauck told the Kosciusko County Convention, Recreation and Visitors Commission that this years event worked out really well.

The event is entering its 19th year and has emerged in recent years as the biggest attraction in the county.

“We’re excited with the results (and) we’re actually going expand it and open it up to more rider,” Hauck said.

Hauck spoke to the commission on Wednesday while seeking funding for next year.

The commission approved a request of $22,950 for next year’s Fat and Skinny Tire Fest which has become a huge tourism event in recent years.

In a related note, the tourism commission approved $3,000 to the Warsaw Public Art Commission to help support the ongoing communitywide art project. The arts commission had sought $10,000 but settled or the lesser amount since such projects fall outside of the scope of the tourism commission.
