Former controversial Roseland councilman passes away

Former Roseland Councilman David Snyder passed away at age 65.

WNDU reports Snyder and his wife made up two thirds of the town council about 10 years ago, which caused controversy in the town.

The town council meetings became a spectacle, one in 2007 resulting in Snyder’s ejection and arrest. He was booked for battery of a police officer, but charges were later dropped.

Snyder’s wife Dorothy told the South Bend Tribune that his death was unexpected, though he had suffered a coronary while undergoing treatment for MS.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1819 Oak St., Niles.
