Lakeview Middle School this morning experienced issues with one of the electrical transformers that provides electricity to the building.
In order to ensure that students are safe, all students were relocated to Baker Youth Club, 1401 E. Smith St. (the old YMCA building).
Parents were allowed to pick their students up beginning at 10:30 a.m. at that location. However, educational activities and lunch continued throughout the day in spite of the change of venue.
Parents who chose to pick up their child were required to bring a photo ID so that school officials could ensure safe dismissal procedures. Students were bused from BYC to their regular locations at the end of the day. There were no after-school events as a result of the relocation.
