Leesburg teen faces sexual misconduct charge

    A Leesburg man is facing charges after sexual misconduct with a fellow student.

    Nicholas Colquitt, 18, of Leesburg, is charged with one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, a level 5 felony.

    According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, on Sept. 22 Colquitt drove a girl from school to go get something to eat. As they passed the restaurant, the girl, who was between the ages of 14-16, asked why they weren’t stopping at the restaurant. Colquitt told her that they would eat at his house instead. When they arrived, Colquitt and the girl had sexual intercourse, charging documents state.

    The girl told police it was the first time she had been to Colquitt’s home and the two were not in a romantic relationship.

    A Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department detective interviewed Colquitt on Sept. 27 and he allegedly advised that he did perform sexual acts with the girl, but didn’t know her age. He also he did not have intercourse with the girl.

    Colquitt was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Wednesday afternoon. His bond was set at $10,000.
