Lilly Center releases summer events calendar

WINONA LAKE —  The Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams invites you to participate in some of the unique, educational programs scheduled this summer.

  • WCPL Stories & STEM: June 7, 14, 21, 28, 10:30 a.m. at Warsaw Community Public
    Library. Bring your elementary-age children and learn about the many aspects of lake
    ecosystems through stories and hands-on projects. No registration is required.
  • Critter Encounter: Turtle: June 9, 9:30 a.m. at the Lilly Center. A morning of fun for the
    whole family! Interact with native turtles and enjoy a themed critter tale, critter
    creation, and critter activity. RSVP required. Free, with snacks provided.
  • Critter Encounter: Crayfish: June 23, 9:30 a.m. at the Lilly Center. Bring the whole family for hands-on fun! Enjoy a native crayfish-themed critter tale, critter creation, and critter activity. RSVP required. Free, with snacks provided.
  • Critter Encounter: Frog: July 7, 9:30 a.m. at the Lilly Center. A fun morning for the whole family! Enjoy native leopard frogs through a themed critter tale, critter creation, and critter activity. RSVP required. Free, with snacks provided.
  • Ecotour: Big Chapman Lake: July 10, 7:00 p.m. Get to know Big Chapman Lake on a new level! Ecotours are like ranger talks – but on the lakes. RSVP is required.
  • Critter Encounter: Mystery Critter: July 21, 9:30 a.m. at the Lilly Center. Interact with a
    to-be-announced critter through a themed critter tale, critter creation, and critter
    activity. RSVP required. Free, with snacks provided.
  • Ecotour: Lake Wawasee: July 11, 7:00 p.m. Get to know Lake Wawasee on a new level!
    Ecotours are like ranger talks – but on the lakes. RSVP is required.
  • Ecotour: Winona Lake: July 13, 7:00 p.m. Get to know Winona Lake on a new level!

  •  Ecotour: Lake Tippecanoe: July 14, 7:00 p.m. Get to know Lake Tippecanoe on a new

  • Aquatic Plant ID Expedition: August 10, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Spend an evening outside at
    the Tri-Lakes with Matthew Linn, a DNR biologist, and learn about the diverse aquatic
    plants in our lakes. RSVP is required.
