After the announcement of statewide unemployment taking a big drop last week, the local numbers released on Monday have also reflected another drop in unemployment.

The latest from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development shows Kosciusko County unemployment down one full percentage point from 5 percent in September to 4 percent in October. 39,151 people are said to be employed now in the county, up nearly 1,000 from September, with a labor force of 40,795.

Drops in unemployment were also seen in surrounding counties. Whitley County has the lowest unemployment rate locally at 3.4 percent, down from 4.1 in September.
