Seven people were rescued from Lake Wawasee in Northern Indiana after their boat sank Saturday evening. ABC57 reported that the driver of the boat, 22-year-old Adam Wenger of Goshen, had a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit when a lake patrol officer attempted to stop the vehicle. Wenger apparently stopped the boat abruptly, then quickly accelerated, causing it to capsize. Indiana Conservation Officers pulled Wenger and six others out of the water. No injuries were reported. Wenger was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a boat while intoxicated.
