A Packerton woman was hurt following a crash on Christmas Eve.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office say 36-year Nicole Smith was northbound on Packerton Road, approaching County Road 400 South, when she failed to stop at the intersection, struck a stop sign, then went off the road and struck a tree.
Firefighters had to extricate Smith from her vehicle. She was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital for her injuries. A minor in the back seat of the vehicle was not injured.
