Republicans sweep through Kosciusko County contested races

Republicans swept all the Kosciusko County races. Kosciusko County saw a Republican sweep in overwhelming fashion in the contested races on Election Day that saw voter turnout similar to 2016.

For the Kosciusko County Commissioner seat in the Middle District, incumbent Cary Groninger defeated Travis McConnell with nearly 75 percent of the vote, garnering 25,696 votes. The three county council at-large seats went to Kathleen Groninger, Sue Ann Mitchell and Joni Truex.

In the Superior Court III Judge race, Chad Miner defeated Tony Garza with just over 69 percent of the votes, receiving 24,162 votes. The overall voter turnout in Kosciusko County was just over 66 percent with 36,159 votes cast. 20,466 of those votes were made on Tuesday.
