Just like the FCC vote to repeal it, most of Michiana’s representation in Congress is split down party lines on Net Neutrality.
Senator Joe Donnelly was the first to take to Twitter, saying that Thursday’s vote to repeal Net Neutrality guidelines set during the Obama administration threatens “an open internet and (would) harm entrepreneurs and small businesses” in addition to consumers.

Senator Todd Young hasn’t made any public statements about it, but in a response letter his office sent to users on Reddit that protested the planned repeal, he supported FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and said “we must keep the internet ecosystem open and vibrant” by removing Net Neutrality measures.
Other Reddit users reported that Congressman Jim Banks and Congresswoman Jackie Walorski had similar response letters sent to concerned citizens.
Congressman Fred Upton once introduced a bipartisan measure to limit the blocking or throttling of legal content, but it never made it out of committee. Upton has not commented on Thursday’s ruling.
