A Gary man is accused of neglect after police say his 6-year-old son shot his 3-year-old daughter while they were alone in the car.
29-year-old Christopher Starks-Vaulx left the two alone in the vehicle while he went in to pick up his 9-month-old twins from a daycare. A loaded gun was in the car's center console. The girl was shot in the hand. The father returned to the car, saw what had happened and then drove his daughter to the hospital.
