The third Friday in December is Ugly Christmas Sweater Day

Holiday celebrations aren’t complete without ugly Christmas sweaters.

Originated by crafty grandmas, the sweaters are now worn ironically, and even the theme of many parties this time of year.

Because of their new-found popularity, the third Friday of December is now celebrated as Ugly Christmas Sweater Day– and this year that’s today– Friday December 15.

TimeandDate.com says to celebrate, you just need to grab those ugly sweaters out of the closet and be brave enough to wear them throughout the day.

If you don’t have one, you can always make one with random craft supplies, funky patterns, and outlandish decals.

It’s the one day of the year when wearing the ugliest thing you own is celebrated– so enjoy it!
